Saturday 12 October 2013 at 7.30pm, the Chard Carnival got underway led by the town crier, if you not sure what a town crier is, it is left over from medieval time`s and is still practiced today in small town`s and villages.
The procession got underway to applause and flash guns, the weather stayed fine through out the parade, in the time we have covered carnival we have never seen such an enthusiastic crowd covering the entire route. What an excellent display everyone had from all the entries, it always amazes me how they come up with different idea`s every year. Well Done to every one who entered and to the people of Chard, and the surrounding area`s for a wonderful turn out and, to all the Carnival entries who put in so much effort.
